Voluntary Health Association of India is a national network of more than 4,500 non-governmental organizations spread across the country federated through 28 State Voluntary Health Associations. It is a registered society under societies registration act XXI of 1860 as a non-governmental organization. It is one of the world's largest associations of voluntary agencies working in the areas of health and development.
VHAI promotes social justice and humanity rights in the provision and distribution of health care services with emphasis on the disadvantaged millions. VHAI believes that such an equitable health care system should be culturally acceptable, universally accessible and affordable. VHAI envisions a sustainable, rational and dynamic health planning and management system in the country with the active participation of people.
